Soccer - (Team & Individual Sports)
Students will learn the basic rules and skills of the game of soccer through game play and skill development activities. The focus will be on skill improvement, game understanding, and effort. Soccer will take place indoors and outdoors, be prepared for both! Strength Training - (Fitness) Students will learn basic strength training concepts with a concentration on functional fitness and foundational multi-joint movements. During the unit students will learn how to perform the core movements and practice them within workouts of their choice. Walking/Jogging - (Fitness) Students will practice various cardio activities and learn how to build a program progression throughout the unit. Options will include walking/jogging outside (weather permitting) and cardiovascular equipment in the weight room. Students walking/jogging outside will track their progress and results using the 'Map my Run' app.
