Golf - (Team & Individual Sports)
During this unit students will learn the rules, scoring, and skills of golf. The focus will be on learning the basics of this lifelong activity, and how students can participate in it after their time in high school. Weight Room Activities - (Fitness) During this unit students will have access to strength training workouts and cardio options. Weight room workouts will include concepts of strength training, functional fitness, and mobility, allowing students to improve their overall fitness. Cardio options will include walking/jogging outside (weather permitting) and spin cycling in the classroom. Students will be able to choose options within the weight room unit to meet their individual goals.

Strength Training - (Fitness)
Students will learn basic strength training concepts with a concentration on functional fitness and foundational multi-joint movements. During the unit students will learn how to perform the core movements and practice them within workouts of their choice. Rec Games - (Recreational Activities) Rec games is a collection of traditional PE games that incorporate concepts of team play, movement patterns, and fitness. The focus of the unit will be on effort and participation. The games in this unit will include crazy kickball, protect the fort, hector the protector, watusi, and others. Spin Cycling - (Fitness) During this unit students will have access to various spin cycle workouts in the fitness room. Workouts will emphasize cardiovascular endurance. Bikes are limited, students may use other cardio equipment if all bikes are occupied. Soccer - (Team & Individual Sports)
Students will learn the basic rules and skills of the game of soccer through game play and skill development activities. The focus will be on skill improvement, game understanding, and effort. Soccer will take place indoors and outdoors, be prepared for both! During the unit students will learn how to perform the core movements and practice them within workouts of their choice. Walking/Jogging - (Fitness) Students will practice various cardio activities and learn how to build a program progression throughout the unit. Options will include walking/jogging outside (weather permitting) and cardiovascular equipment in the weight room. Students walking/jogging outside will track their progress and results using the 'Map my Run' app. |
