Students who are unprepared for class or miss class for a non-medical or school related reason may make up a missed class by completing a workout on PLT4M outside of class. Completed workouts will earn students up to 25 points for the class period missed. Assignments must be completed prior to the next class meeting in order to receive credit.
Lifetime Wellness is a participation based course with a student's grade comprised of three areas: 1. Overall participation in class activities (40%) 2. Attendance log on PLT4M (40%) 3. Personal Wellness Growth Assessment (20%).
Students are graded daily using the PE Daily Participation Rubric with each unit receiving a participation grade. Unit grades are averaged at the end of the term to comprise the student's participation grade.
Student's attendance grade will be measured by the student's activity log in PLT4M. Each class period workout/activity should be logged in PLT4M, and at the conclusion of the term student's will receive an attendance grade based on the number of workout/activities logged.
The primary assessment students will complete is their Personal Wellness Growth assessment using the PLT4M program. This assessment is designed to guide students through the process of assessing current fitness levels, creating individual goals, taking responsibility for achieving these goals, and a strategy for maintaining success. The emphasis of the assessment will be on the student's growth in chosen fitness test categories, not statistical achievement.
