Basketball - (Team & Individual Sports)
During this unit students will apply the skills and concepts of basketball through skill games and competition. The focus will be on skill improvement and game understanding, while also emphasizing fitness concepts including cardiovascular benefits and effort.
Weight Room Activities - (Fitness)
During this unit students will research and perform fitness concepts that meet their fitness goals, including strength training, functional fitness, cardiovascular endurance, and more. Weight room workouts allow students to build off previous work within the fitness category or learn new concepts. Students will be able to choose options within the weight room unit each class to meet their individual goals.
CPR - (Wellness)
Students will learn the basic skill of adult/child/infant CPR, how to use an AED, and the skills to help a choking victim. Material will be presented using the American Heart Association Heartsaver program. Students have to option of getting certified; the certification costs $6 for card processing.
