Strength Training - (Fitness)
Students will learn basic strength training concepts with a concentration on functional fitness and foundational multi-joint movements. During the unit students will learn how to perform the core movements and practice them within workouts of their choice.
Non-Traditional Team Games - (Recreational Activities)
These games are a collection of non-traditional team games that incorporate concepts of team play, movement patterns, and fitness. The focus of the unit will be on effort and participation. The games in this unit will include gatorball, ultimate frisbee, tchoukball, kickball, and others.
Spin Cycling - (Fitness)
During this unit students will have access to various spin cycle workouts in the fitness room. Workouts will emphasize cardiovascular endurance. Bikes are limited, students may use other cardio equipment if all bikes are occupied.
